Erica Saffer is an accomplished writer, educator, storyteller, and literary arts advocate from Jacksonville, Florida, where she resides with her three children. Her experimental short fiction employs form and structure to create hidden narratives, while her longer-form narrations layer story with unforgettable characters and a unique voice.

Her written works have been published in print through anthologies and chapbooks, and online. She is currently querying her debut novel, Love and Loss on the Lido Deck. She is an accomplished storyteller, having appeared on the Florida Theater stage at Untold Stories: Out of the Swamp, and appearing regularly at Babs’ Lab. She is currently working as a full-time writer, training specialist, grant consultant, and curriculum developer, and was Assistant Director of the JaxbyJax Literary Arts Festival. She currently serves on the committee for the Duval Comics and Zines Fest.

She received a grant from the American Federation of Teachers to build Diverse Classroom Libraries in Duval County and has received a generous grant by Alternate ROOTS, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Ford Foundation to fund the Last Sunday Sessions, a free outreach program occuring monthly at Cork Arts Studios.

She has partnered with organizations like 904ward, MomsRising, Women Writing for (a) Change, and the St. Augustine PoetFest to bring literary initiatives to the audiences of Jacksonville. She is currently participating in the Conscious Feminine Leadership Training (CFLT) with Women Writing for (a) Change.
